Amazon Customer Reviews:

A joy to read - (5/5)
Once I started reading this book I could not put it down, poignant moments but lots of fun too.Down to earth and so reminiscent of my own child hood.Great read.Chris Evans is regardless of some public opinion a good man.

a good read - (4/5)
I found this very interesting as I've always been a Chris Evans fan since his Big Breakfast days. Chris started on the TV when I was at school and then I listened to him on the radio throughout being at University. Typically, for an autobiography I don't suppose it would be of much interest if you haven't been a fan or had particular interest in the writer, but as I have I really enjoyed the book. Didn't realise it wasn't the full autobiography though. The book is only up to the time he buys Virgin radio so you've got to wait till he's written the next book to continue.

Chris Evans autoniography - (4/5)
Can't wait for the next instalment. Always quite liked Chris and intigued to read about him. He has earned a new wave of respect from me for his sheer enthusiasm alone! A very determind person and very driven, but at the same time, comes across as being fun, fair and friendly. Love him or loath him, you have to give the man credit for his achievements. A quick and easy read, that will make you feel worn out and an inadequate because you won't be able to keep up with him!

Chris Evans Part One - (3/5)
Like him or loath him Chris Evans has certainly achieved enough to warrant an autobiography. It coincides with a bit of an epiphany where he has become self aware about some of his behaviours and problems and as a result this is an open and honest book.

I was surprised that this only covers his life from birth through to the purchase of Virgin Radio, there is a second part to come. Despite this, at times he skirts through significant events and chooses not to share many stories and anecdotes which was a shame. But that is not to say this is not interesting, it shows his drive and genius and his darker side too. He is articulate and honest and you do realise that most of what he has achieved he has done through hard work and understanding his audience. Evans also shares some of his business ethics and advice and does make a great deal of sense without going over the top on it.

So if you want to understand what made him the man he is and what has been quite an extraordinary 40 odd years, this is an easy and enjoyable read. If you want anecdotes and gossip, then perhaps you might be disappointed. But for me, a solid three star book, I'll certainly buy the second part to this when it comes out.

Very disappointing - (3/5)
This book gives an insight into how determination can get you what you want. However there is not a mention of Chris's famous boozing sessions after his breakfast show with Gazza and many other celebrities. Also not a mention of his marriage and divorce to Billie Piper. Maybe he has a part two in the pipeline, but I was looking forward to all the details of his days out on the beer he regularly spoke about in his Radio 1 days.
