| Exercises for life. - (5/5) | I found this book about three and a half years ago and started the exercises slowly as recommended. The initial attraction for me was that I could do them at home without having to go to a gym or use any special apparatus. Also, I was really self-conscious and wanted to try them in private so I could work at my own pace. I am still doing the exercises. They are fantastic. I do them most mornings and they kind of set the mood of the day. They are constantly challenging so every morning is different. They made a difference almost at once and nowadays I am much stronger, my posture has radically improved and I go in and out where once it was straight down! The exercises also release emotional "stuff" held in the body.
I really recommend this book. |
| Changed view - (5/5) | My original review is in the paragraph below. However, like the reviewer Honfleur I now have doubts about this Kum Nye's authenticity. Potential readers should research Ms Wrights teacher, Christopher Hansard, and the 'Dur Bon' tradition on Google. If this is a fictitous system, it would explain the lack of background detail on 'the complete system' and on names that I refer to below.
The book is clearly written and illustrated, and I would highly recommend the exercises. I have been doing them almost continuously for just over 2 years and I have definitely found benefits in increased stamina, strength, energy levels, and mental focus. Some deeper explanation of the positions would be welcome - why do they have the names they do for example. Also, in the preface the author's teacher states that Stephanie Wright learned the 'complete system' - some info on this would be interesting. |
| Must try it - (5/5) | I had the fortune of Stephanie teaching me Kum Nye in London 4 years ago and have done it every morning since. It is amazing. I use to wake up sleepy and need a coffee, now I have to get up and do my Kum Nye as soon as I wake as the heat running through my body is too much to bear. I even did it in labour which was a challenge but helpful! Good luck to all who start it and continue to do it. |
| Awesome - (5/5) | I have been following Stephanie's stretches/exercises for about 18 months, with some days off. I don't do them long enough, spend about 10 minutes probably. I can really feel the stretches in all my muscles these days and my shape has really changed. Tauter arms, thighs, bottom. If I'd done it for the 16-20 mins a day I'd probably have got on better quicker, but you know, ... no time ... Would recommend this highly.

| Early morning wake up! - (5/5) | If you're looking for an effective and straight forward set of exercises that won't take all day to do, then this is it. Personally speaking, these exercises set me up for the day and recharge my batteries.. Simple to learn, yet more challenging an effective than they first appear. As for the Author, I think she has done a tremendous job. And she goes far enough with her descriptions of the short arrangement of exercises without making you feel overwhelmed. I can't recommend it enough.. |
